Airsoft at American Paintball Coliseum

Airsofting at American Paintball Coliseum is the best experience you can get because our staff is focused on providing excellent customer service to everyone and making sure each player has a smile throughout the day. The airsoft fields are open 7 days a week so we are here anytime you and your friends are looking to pull the trigger. We have a passion for airsoft which is why we put so much work into making our fields and store stand out from the rest. We play all kinds of different games on our fields such as team versus team elimination, capture the flag, domination, trouble in terrorist town and custom formats.

If you are looking to participate in special events, each year American Paintball Coliseum hosts an outdoor, overnight game called Battle of Chernobyl as well as Extinction Haunted House an airsoft special Halloween event. Battle of Chernobyl brings upwards of 100 players battling zombies during the night, and trying to complete objectives during the day game. Extinction haunted House is an interactive haunted house where you and a band of survivors attempt to shoot your way out of the wasteland from the raiders that lurk.

Our airsoft fields are also the perfect place for tactical training. Since our fields have buildings and obstacles to block your view, our fields are fantastic for helping train military, police, and private groups in tactical skills. Because our facility is open during the weekdays, we are able to accommodate your schedule and are centrally located to make getting everyone together a breeze. For more information on setting up a tactical training event at our indoor or outdoor fields, please and we will be excited to have you out.

Airsoft Gear Information

And even though the pellets are made of plastic, they can still do some damage, so it’s extremely important to wear protective airsoft gear.  Goggles and masks are the most common form of protection, with the latter obviously offering more protection than the former.  But players who just want to wear goggles should consider purchasing an anti-fog spray to ensure complete visibility.   Otherwise, players (especially those who wear glasses) should look into masks with protective mesh screens which allow sufficient air flow.  Regardless of your situation, make sure you take the time to research quality airsoft gear before heading out to the field.

Don’t have your own gear? No problem! Our airsoft rental fleet is one of the largest in the state of Colorado so groups big and small are always welcome. When renting equipment from us you receive a custom-made electronic ICS airsoft rifle shooting at approximately 350 feet per second, a magazine capable of holding up to 300 BB’s at a time, face protection that protects each player’s ears, eyes and jaw as well as the batteries to power the airsoft guns. Our rental equipment is maintained weekly to give you the best lenses in your goggles and the best guns in your hands. For more information on airsoft pricing please visit our pricing page.

If you are in need of some new gear, we have you covered! Our airsoft store carries a variety of equipment for every piece you need. We have helmets, airsoft guns, airsoft pistols, face protection, goggles, chest rigs, slings, green gas and more from all the brands you love! American Paintball Coliseum has the largest airsoft store in Denver making us the one-stop-shop for all your airsoft needs. For more information about specific products, visit our store page or call us at (303) 298-8573

Airsoft Scenario Play

So, now that you know what to look for in terms of gear, let’s talk about the advantages of the game itself.  As with any activity that requires coordination with multiple people, playing airsoft is a great way to make friends and build teamwork.  Depending on the scenario, players may need to scout out the best route to capture the flag or assign specific players to be snipers.  Coming to an agreement about which role each team member should play is crucial to the team’s success.

Another advantage of playing airsoft is exercise.  Speedy guerilla-style skirmishes are as exciting as they are frantic and are a surefire way to stay fit.  Of course, players who prefer lengthy stealth-based battles which test their patience and endurance won’t burn as many calories, but they’ll have a blast all the same.

So, if you’re looking for a fun, healthy activity where you can make friends and experience the thrill of combat, consider finding an airsoft organization near you.  Most players will be happy to teach you the basics, so that before you know it, you’ll be picking off targets with the best of them.

Come have a blast at our Denver Outdoor Airsoft Field!

Our outdoor airsoft fields are among the best in the state of Colorado featuring 65+ acres of playing space and seven different types of playing fields. Our outdoor field includes 13 fields that has cars and buses for long range cover and indoor scenarios for close quarters combat. Located in Brighton, Colorado (about 20 minutes northeast from the indoor field in Denver) All our fields can be used for Airsoft if you book in advance. Bring your gear or rent ours, bring your friends and have a blast!

Each player will receive a full safety orientation before stepping on to the fields as well. Airsoft is a sport for all ages (10+) that builds social skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and helps to relieve stress. American Paintball Coliseum also offers drinks and snacks at our outdoor fields. Outside food and drink are allowed to be brought to the airsoft fields, and most people prefer to have lunch while they are out there. History of Airsoft

A little information about Airsoft, airsoft was invented in Japan in response to laws which forbid the possession of firearms.  While airsoft guns look almost identical to the more lethal variety of firearms, they are 100% legal in most countries.  The name “airsoft” stems from the way compressed air propels the BBs towards their target.

The activity itself is similar to paintball, as the goal in both activities is to shoot your opponents with nonlethal projectiles.  Unlike paintballs, which cake their targets in paint, airsoft pellets leave no visible marks (save for minor bruising, which is invisible through the camouflage players typically wear).  Consequently, players who have been hit must be upfront about it, unless they want to be labeled cheaters.

I am old, haha, 54 yrs, but had an absolute blast playing laser tag with my 30 something year old son and 10 year old granddaughter. Will go again when I go back to Denver to visit. Employees were extremely helpful and let me use the discount even though I did not make my reservation online. Love, love, loved this place!

Awesome and fun live action haunted house. I was definitely scared and it’s been one of the best I’ve been to! Can’t wait to try out paintballing there!

Ivonne Marquez

It was really fun but definitely hurts to get shot with paintballs. I’d recommend wearing thick gloves and clothing!! Paintballs will bruise you! There are two arenas, one with metal sculptures for hiding, and another with big air filled blowup objects. They have masks and guns to provide if you do not have any. They have a food hut and a mini shop.

Amazing time with students on a field trip. Highly recommend this place, guys behind the counter and working were fabulous. Only down side is there is no ice, so if you are with kids that might get injured, bring a ice pack, or a cooler full!

The guys here are a class act. Always excited to see old and new players. 1st time at the indoor field and seems they are working on the inside but you don’t need much other then air, paint, and gun. An experience for the whole family and other players will help if it’s your first time. You will be nervous but once the adrenaline kicks in you won’t remember going to the movies or want to on a boring Sunday. Instead you will be here kicking butt and taking names!!!

Kim Mendez

Wonderful visit our helper Kaley was awesome!!! She made the experience even better.

So I highly recommend this place! My son and I went to play paintball for our first time. Unfortunately, my son was a couple years too young (you need to be 10 years old). He was pretty upset and so we decided to play laser tag instead. The gentleman that worked there went out of his way to make sure my son had a great time since he wasn’t able to play paintball. We had a blast. Way above and beyond good customer service!

I love this place! You can go there for paintball, Lazer tag, and airsoft. I have only done airsoft so the indoor field for airsoft and Lazer tag is the only one I’ve played on, it is nice and big with lots of cover, such as metal sheets, 50 gallon drums, and big plastic containers. It is not the only one I’ve been to, but it is the only in Colorado, it is my favorite field I’ve been to, though. I highly recommend it for airsoft, Lazer tag, and paintball. Their service is absolutely amazing! For airsoft and paintball you can rent a gun or bring you own, I always bring my own, but people who rent for airsoft rent a nice gun that sure can compete! Recently I bought an airsoft gun from them, so you can buy an airsoft gun or paintball gun from a nice selection of them! This place is amazing!

Airsoft Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need reservations or can we just come and play?

If your group needs rental equipment then we do ask for reservations at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to be prepared to give your group the absolute best service and experience possible. A $5 reservation deposit is taken per player for the reservation deposit. The deposit is then deducted off your total sale when you arrive to play. Reservations can be made by clicking here or calling us at (303) 298-8573.

Is the outdoor field the same as the indoor field?

The outdoor fields for American Paintball Coliseum are NOT located at the same address. Our outdoor paintball and airsoft fields are located in Brighton, Colorado. Our indoor location for paintball, airsoft and laser tag is located in north Denver. Click here for directions to both locations.

When are your outdoor fields open?

American Paintball Coliseum’s outdoor airsoft fields are open Saturdays and Sunday’s from nine o’ clock in the morning until five o’clock in the evening. The outdoor fields are open year round weather permitting so call to make sure they are available. (303) 298-8573

Can I bring my own airsoft gear?

Yes! You are welcome to bring your own airsoft gear if you have it but we do also have airsoft rental equipment available for those that don’t. If you do bring your own equipment, a barrel bag is required to be over the end of the barrel to maintain safety. Barrel bags can be purchased at our store while you are checking in for $6.

Is airsoft actually soft?

Airsoft is a very similar game to paintball yet different in that the projectiles are 6mm plastic BB’s. This means that airsoft still stings for a second or two when getting hit. You can combat the sting by making sure to wear long-sleeved clothing when you arrive to play. We do also have gloves for sale that offer more hand protection in our airsoft store for between $7-$20.

What is the chronograph speed for airsoft?

If you have your own equipment, before being allowed on the field, each gun you plan on using must be chronographed with one of our field supervisors. The field speed at our indoor location is 355 fps with a .20 gram BB. For our outdoor field, guns mush shoot under 400 fps with a .20 gram BB. If none of this makes sense to you then simply ask our field supervisors and they will be happy to assist you.

How do games rotate for airsoft?

Airsoft games at American Paintball Coliseum are broken into public and private matches. Each group is allowed to play just amongst themselves or play in publically run games. Each game generally lasts about 5 minutes a piece and is played in rotation with the rest of the games to play at that time. Public airsoft matches are held at the end of each private group cycle to ensure even playing time.
