Why Axe Throwing is Fun for the Whole Family
Young children are easy to please, and there are plenty of spots that are dedicated to providing entertainment for families with littles. As our babies grow, it becomes increasingly more difficult to find a place that’s fun for the whole family, and even harder to find one that will win the highly sought-after teen’s word of approval. Although elusive, these teen-friendly places exist, and if you’re lucky, they may even crack a smile.
Axe throwing is a popular activity among adults, but it’s quickly becoming a fun sport for teens, as well. What was once only available for adults over the age of 18, many facilities are beginning to offer axe throwing for kids as young as 13. Here at American Paintball Coliseum, we offer a safe environment that’s alcohol-free, where families can make memories together.
Let’s look at some of the best reasons why axe throwing is fun for the whole family.
It’s a Great Workout
Any activity that gets your blood pumping is good in our book, and axe throwing is no exception. It’s a great way to increase your cardiovascular health, and you’ll build upper body strength at the same time. Engage your core while performing this low-impact activity, and you’ve got yourself a solid workout that’s so fun, you won’t even notice you’re exercising.
Better yet, exercise lowers stress levels, which every parent of teenagers knows too well. Axe throwing with your teens is a great way to ease your stress while bonding with the ones who cause (some of) it.
It’s the Perfect Way to Connect With Teens
As our children become tweens and teenagers, they often retreat to their rooms, phone in hand, to spend hours alone online playing video games or chatting with friends. As parents, we’re always looking for ways to connect with them, and axe throwing provides the perfect neutral ground to do just that. Here, life is fun, and your kids don’t need to worry about being badgered over topics like cleaning their room, their grades, or why in the world they won’t just get a haircut. Instead, you can have a good time together throwing axes at giant targets. Lighthearted and fun, it’s a great way to get away from the parent-kid struggle for a few hours.
Who Doesn’t Love a Little Healthy Competition?
Competition is common, especially in families with multiple kids. Foster healthy sibling rivalry by pitting your teens against one another in a friendly game of axe throwing to see who can get the highest score. Alternatively, challenge them to a game against the parents, so you can remind them who’s still the best. You can even up the ante by offering to buy ice cream if your kids can beat you — but be prepared to follow through if they succeed!
Learn and Polish a New Skill Together
Most people don’t practice axe throwing at home, and it’s usually a brand new skill for visitors who come to APC. What’s better than learning something new with your kids in a safe and fun environment? We’ve got amazing axe throwing instructors on site who are happy to help you develop your axe throwing skills. That way, your teen will have something new to show his friends — or a date — the next time they visit APC.
